Memorial Day weekend in Las Vegas

Our buddies Michelle & Russell are great friends.  We love dining with them and bowling with them and for ages we’ve talked about traveling together.  We finally bit the bullet and decided to take a trip to Las Vegas over Memorial Day weekend.

Dave got a special offer from Bill’s Gamblin' Hall & Saloon and we decided to say “Oh what the heck; it’s just a room” and stayed there.  HUGE mistake.  While we totally enjoy the tables and gambling there; the hotel and guest rooms are a dump!  We’ll never do that again. We left on Friday night and spent the evening there by ourselves.

Michelle & Russell flew out on Saturday morning.  We spent the day walking the strip and taking in the sights.

We had lunch at BLT Burger at the Mirage.  We took them over to CityCenter and walked through the Cosmopolitan, Aria and the shops.

On Saturday night we saw Crazy Horse and then took them to the Mandarin Hotel for cocktails at the Mandarin Bar on the 23rd floor of the hotel.

On Sunday we met up with my cousin Bailey and had brunch at Mon Ami Gabi at the Paris Las Vegas

The weather took a turn and temps dropped and it began to rain. Bailey dropped us off and we hurried along the strip and bought sweatshirts.  We decided to keep out of the rain by taking in an afternoon movie. We had dinner that night at Outback Steakhouse.

On Monday we had an outstanding breakfast at Hash House A Go Go at the Imperial Palace.  They left on Monday while Dave and I had a late flight that same day.  Of course the weather on Monday turned out sunny and perfect after a day of cool temps and rain.  Dave and I had a late lunch at the Sugar Factory then left for home that evening.
