Dave and I were invited to our friend's daughter's wedding in New York. Laurie married Tim; an Aussie on Saturday, April 19. Dave and I flew from San Antonio to East Islip, Long Island via Southwest Airlines. We rented a car and drove into White Plains. The wedding was held at the Bronxville Women's Club
It was a lovely outdoor ceremony followed by cocktails and live music by the Saints of Swing After the cocktail hour was over we made our way inside the venue for a terrific sit down dinner.
Here is a photo of Laurie and Tim cutting the cake! Aren't they just the cutest couple?
Although our weekend was short and sweet; we managed to pack a lot of activity into a few days. The next morning following the wedding we attended a brunch for the bride and groom at the bride's grandparent's house in Scarsdale. That afternoon we met up with my dear friend Darlene; a college roommate. She and Donna; another friend from college met Dave and I half way. As we were staying in White Plains and Darlene lives on Long Island; we met in Valley Stream. After a few hours of catching up again; we left Donna and Darlene and made our way into Purchase where my youngest nephew Matthew graduates from next month. Matthew is a percussionist major and was performing in a classmate's recital. When he was finished; he joined us for dinner. I'll be back again in May to see him graduate.
The next day we were due to fly out but not until the afternoon so we returned to Valley Stream where we had a quick lunch with Dave's Uncle Ken and his wife Janelle.
While it was a quick in and out weekend; we packed it full. Next stop; VACATION to Hawaii!
