Well, it's Friday and we're nearly done! For those of you just logging on let me recap the purpose of the Shanghai trip. Dave and his colleagues Alex, Zack & Cliff are here on business. Alex & Cliff are here primarily to attend bakery tradeshows & meet with various industry manufacturers. Dave & Zack are here as guests of Bunzl USA and PrimeSource and are here to attend various trade shows (discussed on earlier postings) and meet with vendors. Today is Friday and we wrapped up our week with more factory tours. I have been fortunate enough to accompany Dave on this business trip and attend all the exhibitions and factory tours. While this truly has been a business opportunity for Dave, I have had the luxury of calling this a vacation.
We started out the day touring a paper & corrugate manufacturing company. They had a very large facility and are China's number one producer of paper & corrugate. We walked through the facility and saw the production of Spanish flash cards! After that we made our way to Detpak; an Australian based company with production facilities located in Shanghai, Hong Kong & Indonesia. I was very impressed with the cleanliness and professionalism of the facility.
We're off to dinner again; location and cuisine TBD. Tomorrow is a down day and we're off to be official tourists. We leave Shanghai on Sunday.
