Aruba (Day #1; courtesy of Continental Airlines)

Dave and I began our Aruban adventure this morning at 4:45 am. We got to the San Antonio International Airport at 5:45 to discover upon check-in that while we had a reservation; we were NOT ticketed. We had a 7:30 am connection through Houston with an estimated arrival into Aruba at 2:30 pm. Instead; after our agent remained on hold for nearly 2 hours; we missed our 7:30 am flight and our departing flight to Aruba out of Houston. I managed to get to a phone and call Continental myself and had an agent issue our tickets. "Why it couldn't have been handled in San Antonio", he asked? I asked him the same question. For this trip we reserved our flights with an e-ticket so the actual ticketing, per the San Antonio agent, had to be completed by someone in Houston. He apologized profusely; issued our tickets and got us a flight out of Newark tomorrow morning! After at 10:00 pm arrival into Newark and a hotel voucher in hand; Dave and I are spending our first night of vacation at the Newark Holiday Inn. At least not all is lost; we have a flight out tomorrow and will arrive in Aruba at 4:30 pm and will begin our adventures.
