Vegas, Vegas, Vegas, blah, blah, blah. What can I say? We arrived on Sunday morning; golf clothes on; clubs in hand and made our way to the rental car. From there we drove straight out to Silverstone Golf Club for a 10:30 am tee time on 8/31. It was hotter 'en heck but we managed to play 18 holes. This particular weekend served as one where Amy forgot all of her personal affects to include her credit cards, camera, etc. I don't know what happened! I guess I fried my brains with too much gaming on Facebook! Ha, ha, ha!
As we had a rental car; we decided that after a shower and freshening up we'd go out to Red Rock Casino to check it out. We made our way through the casino; played a few machines and decided to have a nice dinner. We ate at T-Bones Chophouse. It was great! We split the 28 oz. bone-in rib eye. We each had a starter and it could have easily been our main meal. Talk about a ton of food! Good food; good wine selections; give it a go if you ever get out there.
The next day we had two tee times lined up at the Las Vegas Paiute Golf Club. We had a certificate we received back from the Thunderbird Reunion last year that we were redeeming. We were supposed to golf on the Snow and Sun courses but as we made our way through the first 18 holes; we were told to finish up on the Wolf course which was spectacular. We played with a single so the three of us completed 36 holes pretty quickly.
That evening we made our way over to the Wynn to check it out as well as Ceasar's Palace. We had a simple dinner that evening at In - N - Out Burgerr; a staple of burger joints in Las Vegas and west coast.
Our flight departed the next afternoon so we decided to gamble at Hooters Casino to check them out. Amazingly we were pretty impressed. It's small; intimate; not too smoky and you get big drinks. Plus we won a little cash so it made it worth the stop. This trip we stayed at New York/New York hotel & casino as we had received a promotional mailer asking us to come out and stay 3 free nights. So we'll be back again in October (for free) as Dave has a conference at the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino.
Next on the list of travels; NEBRASKA for Dave's grandmother's birthday and a stop to see our goddaughter Kennedy and her family.
