Tonight is our last night in Aruba. We'll spend our last available minutes tomorrow (Saturday) on the beach and then return the rental car and check in; our flight departs at 4:59 pm.
Today we checked out of the Westin and had a late breakfast at Linda's Pannenkoeken & Pizza. This is hands down the only one of its kind in Aruba; the best Dutch pancake house. The pancakes are more like crepes but served on a plate and are HUGE. It comes with authentic Dutch syrup which is totally unlike US syrup; very thick and sweet but not sugary sweet. Dave ordered the apple and bacon and I ordered the apple with a side of caramel sauce. Here's the photo!
After breakfast we made our way to the Marriott. http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/auaar-aruba-marriott-resort-and-stellaris-casino/ The hotel is under renovation and is going to be fantastic when all is said and done. We checked in and dropped off our bags then made our way out again so that Dave could buy a replacement snorkel. After the purchase of the snorkel we headed back into the capitol city again for souvenir shopping. There we saw many colorful Dutch-influenced buildings.
After shopping we made our way to the furthest northern tip of the island to check out Arashi Beach and then to Molmok Beach. We had been told previously in the week that Molmok had the best snorkeling. We snorkeled at Molmok then returned to the hotel for clean-up.
This evening we dined at Madame Jeanette's. http://www.madamejanette.info/ There was never a "Madame" named Jeanette and the owners are two men who founded the restaurant in 1999 and give it the European and Caribbean influence. Dave had the steak and I had the sea bass; both dishes were phenomenal.
We stopped and watched our last sunset tonight; remarkable. Thanks for reading and catch us next time!
