Sorry to disappoint as I know readers are sick of hearing about our multiple trips to Las Vegas but guess what? We'll be back AGAIN this month as we'll be attending the United States Air Force's Annual Thunderbird Reunion. Dave and I were in Las Vegas last month as Dave attended the Packaging Show. While there; we took in the Freemont Street Experience. Viva Vision, the 175,000 square foot, four-block-long pedestrian canopy on Freemont Street was built to rejuvenate a downtown in decline. The Neonopolis opened in 2002 and has over 15 million lights which makes it one of the largest LED screens in the world. My fav shot is of Vegas Vic. This giant neon cowboy is the world's largest mechanical neon sign. Can you believe that Las Vegas has a Neon Museum?! We've never seen it but it's spread out over a three-acre site dubbed the Boneyard. Maybe in one of our other visits we can see it. Wouldn't it be great if it was aglow for nighttime viewing?
DIDYOUKNOW? In 1946, gangster Bugsy Siegel paid tribute to his leggy showgirl girlfriend when he dubbed his new hotel the "Flamingo" which was her pet name.
Next trip......Chicago!
