NO! We were not hurt in the shooting at New York New York Casino! Greetings to those faithful followers and readers of the Sanchez travels! Dave and I are in Las Vegas for the 2nd of three business trips he has this year. Yesterday at 12:45 am a "distressed" gunman on a balcony at the New York-New York casino opened fire on gamblers below, wounding four people before he was tackled by off-duty military reservists. A fifth person was hurt in a crush of people fleeing the casino. The gunman was a Hungarian immigrant and an unemployed house painter who liked to gamble.
Sorry for the buzz-kill! Today however is 7/7/2007! WOW; it's Eva Longoria & Tony Parker's NUPTIAL day! You can't believe the hoopla about it being 7/7/07 today. Last night Dave and I met a gal who said she was placing a $7 bet on the $7th number at 7 pm today. We asked; "Why not 7 am?"
We're back at Bally's once again and yesterday hopped into a cab headed to the Tropicana. Our cab driver pointed out to us that the ambient air temperature on his gauge was reading 130 degrees! Can you believe that? How crazy is that? Southern Texas has been under a deluge of rain and here in the dessert it's that hot!
At the Tropicana we took in the BODIES and TITANIC exhibits. Both we're well done; however if you're any amount of queasy; I suggest taking in the Titanic exhibit only.
No shows for us are on the radar as we leave for home tomorrow. There aren't any photos to this post this time either but check back later next week as we depart for vacation to Costa Rica on 7/12.
Thanks for reading!
