I began my career at the San Antonio Convention & Visitors Bureau on September 11, 2000. Prior to that I was a sales manager at the Westin La Cantera Resort. One day out of the blue I received a phone call from Stephen Bilby, Account Executive from the SACVB who stated that he was leaving and that he thought that I'd made a great candidate for his position and why don't I come down and interview? Well....I did and I accepted the position. Nearly seven years later and a CMP certification under my belt (Certified Meeting Professional); I have decided to take a break to regroup, refresh and spend the remainder of 2007 traveling with Dave. No; Dave is not retiring; contrary to popular belief. Someone has to earn an income! The travels consist of business trips for him and occasional vacations for the both of us.
One of my colleagues at the SACVB suggested that I keep a travel blog on my adventures. I said; "What a great idea!" My nephew David had phoned me a few weeks after I made my announcement and said to me: "What's up Carmen SanDiego?" He knew we had many travels ahead of us and I laughed when he called me that. So, I've created this blog as a document and testament to our travels! Hopefully it'll be something worthy to look back on and will keep those interested in our travels entertained. I promise to include as much information and photos as possible. HAPPY READING!
